For this new home construction, we
are providing architectural details, lighting design, furniture,
accessories, artwork and custom window treatments.

While the house was still under construction, artist's concepts
were created from architectural drawings and the designer's specifications.
This vital part of the design helped the owners visualize what the
completed spaces would look like.

Rotunda
This central space ties together the main and upper levels of the home. On the main level, a limestone floor with a custom-designed compass rose inlay provides a focal point as you enter the main door. Architectural details in the elliptical
space set the tone for the rest of the house. A bronze handrail is embellished with dogwood blossoms, a recurring motif throughout the house. Straight ahead is the dining room. Its large windows provide a sweeping view of the wooded acreage surrounding the home.

Dining Room
Filled with family antiques and silver, this dining room is an elegant space for a dinner party. Scraped Oak floors in a herringbone pattern are the base for an antique Persian Carpet made from Manchester Wool. The paneled walls envelop the room in a rich red tone with subtle golden highlights. Hanging from the beamed ceiling are a pair of custom chandeliers in the Empire Style. The crystal brings sparkle and lightness to the room. The focal point of the space is an antique china cabinet eight feet tall and over eight feet wide. Large windows provide a panoramic view of the wooded acreage surrounding this home.

Kitchen
The kitchen is a marriage of old world charm and modern convenience. The warm cherry finish of the perimeter cabinets is offset by the painted and glazed finish of the island. Hand molded tile surround the fireplace, form the backsplash and cover the hood. The walls are textured and painted to resemble aged plaster. A comfortable chair at the fireplace provides a cozy spot to relax and read a good book.
The custom table and corner bench are ideal for casual meals. This kitchen is a perfect place for family and friends to gather for good food and conversation.

Living Room
Designed with both elegance and comfort in mind, this room is frequently used by the couple to they entertain guests and visiting family members. The space lends itself well to relaxing beside the fireplace with a good book, an intimate conversation with a few friends or a holiday party for a large group. A two-way bar hidden in the panels flanking the fireplace can service a small group within the room, or a large party of guests circulating throughout the house.
The living room of this Palladian inspired home exudes a relaxed formality reminiscent of the country houses of England. The detailed classical shell of the room provides an elegant backdrop in cool grayish blue-green and warm cream. Intricate moldings gracefully adorn the ceiling coffers and wall panels. Herringbone patterned floors are made from hand scraped white oak. The focal point of the room is an elaborate fireplace of carved marble. This fireplace was designed in our studio and carved in Tuscany. It is crowned with an intricate antique Chinese ship, carved from jade.
Upholstered furniture in textured and patterned fabrics provides comfortable seating and warmth. Case goods featuring inlaid and carved woods anchor the room and add richness to the space. Asian collectibles give character and interest.
A custom made light fixture of bronze and slumped glass is a representation of the dogwood blossom, a recurring motif throughout the home. Windows remain uncovered to afford amazing views of the surrounding woodlands.

The Sitting Room
This bedroom suite is currently being used as a sitting room by the lady of the house. Maple wainscoting and woodwork and damask patterned wallpaper wrap the room in warm tones that are offset by upholstered furniture in a rich eggplant hue. The sheer draperies and a delicate chandelier add a feminine touch to the room yet still stand up to the strong architectural lines of the house. |
The Sitting Room Bathroom
The focal point of the bathroom is a mosaic of stone, metal and glass tile that is modeled after a work by Alphonse Mucha. The lady’s auburn tresses echo the reddish tones of the woodwork and cabinetry.

The Conservatory
The conservatory is designed to be a space “filled with sunshine” regardless of the weather outdoors. The focal point of this circular space is a mosaic of glass tiles representing a sunflower in full bloom. The gentle arcs of this composition are formed from portions of the logarithmic curve, a mathematical equation that results in a never-ending, ever changing spiral that begins from a single point. The colors vary from black to brown with copper highlights to shades of yellow and green with subtle metallic gold accents. The sunflower is bordered by a ring of Rosa Verona marble. The outer ring is Jerusalem Limestone, which is also used in the corridor that leads from the conservatory to the main house. Columns framing the windows are also clad in the same limestone allowing the sparkling glass to take center stage. The central column repeats the colors from the floor gradually introducing tones that blend in to the wood ceiling. The pattern was drawn and rendered in our studios. Glass colors from the manufacturer’s color palette were selected and the specifications and drawings were sent to the studio where the mosaic was constructed by artisans and shipped in sections, ready for installation.

Master Bathroom
Reminiscent of a Roman bath, this light filled room has many classical details. A blue ceiling blurs the distinction between the indoors and out. A large arched window that follows the line of the barrel vault lets in views of the surrounding woods. Images of a Greek Water Bearers carved and etched into the shower door adds yet another classical influence to the space. |
Contemporary Laundry Room
Like a sports car, these sleek lacquered cabinets give a bit of fun to laundry chores. A custom backsplash of glass mosaic tiles adds to the playfulness of the space. Countertops of a durable, quartz solid surface provide an easy to maintain work surface that adds even more color to this modern laundry room.

Media Room
A marriage of technology & aesthetics, the media room is designed to provide optimum sound and minimal light reflection from the screen.
